The Wallenpaupack Area Drug and Task Force is an action and advisory group working to implement a comprehensive school and community approach to help our teenagers stay safe from drugs and alcohol.  Formed in November of 2004, we are a new,  yet growing organization.

The Task Force includes the school district, law enforcement, community leaders and parents.  The program was meant to raise awareness of the problem among community leaders so they can begin to work with the district to explore possible solutions.  Our work involves:

              • Understanding the reasons why students use drugs and alcohol.
              • Researching best practices regarding drug and alcohol services and programs.
              • Identifying and evaluating available resources.
              • Advising and supporting school staff in the development of policies and programs.
              • Producing supplemental events, programs and resource materials.

Our interests include drug and alcohol education programs for teens, peer counseling and support programs, parent education and support programs, and more effective enforcement strategies.

Meetings are held monthly - visit the W.A.S.D. website for dates, times and location.  For more information, contact:
